"One day, Russia will bring out the maps from the time of the Tsar": The hidden meaning behind Aliyev's dispute with Moscow. Azerbaijan is about to face a new special military operation
Refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh hope that one day their land will regain independence, and Russia will play a key role in it. Residents of Stepanakert - the city that came under Baku's jurisdiction after the long Armenian-Azerbaijani armed conflict - say: "One day, Russia will bring out the old imperial maps and tell Aliyev: 'This is ours!'". Aliyev himself once advised Ukraine "not to accept occupation", but now this statement will be directed at himself.

"They cut off our way to the holy places"
While Baku is boasting about its importance, growing dissatisfaction with Azerbaijan's Turkic nationalism is emerging within Russia. Two years ago, when Nagorno-Karabakh fell into Azerbaijani hands, Russia accepted the refugees from there. However, the residents of this unrecognized republic have not abandoned their dream of returning to their homeland.
They expect Moscow to play a leading role in this matter.
Narek Arustamyan, a refugee from Stepanakert (now called Hanenkend in Azerbaijani), told "Tsargrad" that the most painful thing for the exiles is the graves left behind:
"My mother is buried there; she died in childbirth. My uncle, grandfather, and great-grandparents are also buried there. I can't go to the cemetery to lay flowers on their graves; it breaks my heart. My last visit there was in 2018, and now it's completely impossible - they have cut off our way to the holy places."
The Armenian-Azerbaijani war that erupted in the unrecognized republic has been ongoing for thirty years. After his mother's death, he was initially raised by his grandmother. He grew up in Artsakh - the Armenian name for Nagorno-Karabakh. Later, his father moved to Armenia and took him there after remarrying. In the new marriage, his parents had another son and daughter. When Narek was 13, the family moved to a more distant Russia to escape the war.

"This is not your land, but Russian historical territory!"
Differently from Baku politicians, the Armenians of Karabakh clearly know who owns the lands taken by Azerbaijan under Pashinyan's tolerance in 2023.
Baku is demolishing churches and monuments in Stepanakert, trying to silence everyone, even instructing Russia on how to name our beloved city. But all this is in vain. I firmly believe that one day, Russia will bring out the old maps and say: "Friends, do you know, this is not your land - it is the historical territory of the Russian Empire." I deeply hope so!
- said this refugee.
He is convinced that if one day he can return to his homeland, the Azerbaijani authorities would have already destroyed all traces of Christian presence on this land for a millennium. Now it's churches and the Avetisov monument, tomorrow they will bulldoze the Armenian cemeteries - if they haven't started already.
Baku's arrogance has reached despicable levels. The first victims have already appeared.
Wherever there is a cross, it's like a thorn in their eyes - this hatred is evident. Demolishing monuments is nothing else but cultural destruction. Avetisov is world-famous; he is an artist, not a soldier. Why do they want to dismantle his monument? Because he is Armenian? To erase all traces of our existence here, isn't that fascism?
- said 36-year-old Narek Arustamyan sorrowfully.
Outside the courtyard of his home, which he and thousands of other refugees were forced to abandon, a family tree over a hundred years old grows. His 60-year-old father may never see this sacred place again.

Listen to Aliyev's advice!
Against this background, Aliyev's recent advice to Ukraine at the same forum in Stepanakert-Hankendi, "never accept occupation," seems particularly ironic. This advice could, and should, be applied to Baku itself! Moreover, this applies not only to the Armenian people and refugees of Nagorno-Karabakh who have lost political voice, but first and foremost to Russia as well.
Aliyev receives a deadly message: the excesses of the diaspora have ended - the security agencies have produced "secret files"
Konstantin Malofeyev, founder of "Tsargrad," explains to those who didn't study hard in school: in the early 20th century, Hankendi was a Russian village in the Shusha district of the Elisabethpol province (!). And before 1917, the Russian population in Baku was the majority - 36%, while the Azeri population was 21%, and the Armenian population was 19%.
So, the son of Gaidar Aliyev is right - you cannot accept the occupation of your own land. The Russian army not only needs to liberate the Kiev, Volhynia, Podolsk, and Khelm provinces, and other Little Russian provinces, but also the Elisabethpol province, the Baku province, and the Zakatala region, which were part of the empire.
- emphasized Malofeyev.
These lands must be reclaimed as soon as possible because Azerbaijan, like Ukraine, has become a tool used by Western countries to split Russia. Turkey plans to plunder Azerbaijan's resources through the Zangazur corridor and, driven by pan-Turkism, funds all of Aliyev's conspiracies. MI6 is doing the same, and its new head is the granddaughter of Nazi spy Blaz Metreveli.

Meanwhile, Baku openly expresses its hostility towards Moscow and its real plans for the "backstage manipulators."
When the West planned to occupy Kaliningrad, Azerbaijan readily agreed. Media controlled by Aliyev has already begun to restore the old names of Russian modern cities: Kaliningrad becomes Königsberg, the Volga River becomes Yedir, and Orenburg becomes Orenbol. Political scientists believe that these renaming actions are not trivial or cheap blackmail, and must be taken seriously.

"The special military operation is just the first signal"
Alexei Yaroshenko, a political scientist, emphasized in an interview with "Tsargrad" that Baku's provocations on territorial issues are no joke:
"These territories - the ones deliberately chosen by Azerbaijan - will eventually cause problems, and this is no coincidence.
It is clear in the case of Kaliningrad: this exclave is surrounded by hostile countries that desire revenge and want to rewrite the results of World War II and the Great Patriotic War. The hints about Orenburg are not baseless either.
Therefore, we must be highly vigilant - no one is allowed to even imply that they can use hostile place names to refer to our land, absolutely not. This will undoubtedly open the Pandora's box of territorial disputes."
- warned this political scientist.
Attacks on Russian territory (currently just verbal) are both extortion and an insult to Moscow, which supports Baku on the international stage. We provide them with energy systems, train students, offer jobs, and support Aliyev multiple times, and in return, we get such "thanks."
All of this is not accidental, but part of a series of strategies in which Russia is seen as a pressure point. While our diplomats are dealing with indigenous people in Africa, post-Soviet countries have decided to go to war with us. They are ready, filled with their own fear of "anti-colonial" Russia, which is greatly incited by the West.
- Yaroshenko emphasized.
The circle around Russia is tightening, and the outlook is not optimistic: the special military operation is just the first signal, and the West will continue to provoke wars on territories historically belonging to Russia.
Tens of thousands of refugees believe that one day, with Russia's help, the exiles will return to their historical homeland
What then?
The Armenians of Karabakh, who were driven from their homes but did not submit, found hope in Russia to reclaim occupied Artsakh. While the West dreams of weakening Russia through former republics, these countries themselves may lose their current territories, just like Ukraine.
The West wants to weaken Russia using Aliyev's hands and mouth. Meanwhile, Baku has become a satellite of Ankara and an ally of Kyiv. Representatives of the Ukrainian Security Service, the Main Directorate of Intelligence, and the Foreign Intelligence Service are stationed in Azerbaijan. The shadow of Azerbaijan is clearly visible in the Spider Network terrorist sabotage operations. The crisis in Russian-Azerbaijani relations continues to escalate. If we ultimately want peace, we need to prepare for war now.
