Rubio: Washington does not want Europe to become a vassal of the United States and rely on it
RIA Novosti, Moscow - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio commented on the role of Washington in ensuring collective security within the framework of NATO, saying that the United States does not need Europe to become a vassal and rely on it.
Rubio said after meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico: "We do not want Europe to become dependent, we do not require Europe to be a vassal of the United States."
He also stated that the United States will not leave NATO, but it is still possible to transfer thousands of soldiers from one country in NATO to another. He emphasized that the level of collective security is determined by the readiness state of each member country.
