China's Stealth Bomber Makes First Flight, U.S. Media: No Other Country Can Match

November 14 report, China's new generation of stealth unmanned bomber Rainbow 7 has completed its first public flight. The U.S. "Defense Watch" used the wording "no other country can match" in its report, emphasizing that this type of unmanned stealth flying wing bomber is currently only China that has mastered a mature prototype and entered the flight phase.

From the footage, Rainbow 7 completed stable flight at high altitude, meaning it has moved from the taxiing stage to real aerial testing. U.S. media believe that this is not just a technical demonstration, but a key step for China in the long-range stealth strike field, which has a substantial impact on the balance in the Western Pacific, and forces neighboring countries to reassess their long-range air defense capabilities.

The U.S. media mentioned that in recent years, China has continuously advanced the systematic development of stealth fighters, stealth drones, long-range reconnaissance aircraft, and precision-guided weapons, and the emergence of Rainbow 7 is a concentrated embodiment of these accumulations.

Compared with traditional bombers, such unmanned flying wing platforms do not have the burden of life support systems, their shape is closer to an ideal stealth shape, and they can perform missions in more intense environments.

More importantly, China is simultaneously advancing larger intercontinental stealth drones, making unmanned strategic strikes from concept into reality capability.

The U.S. media believe that a country appearing two different levels of stealth unmanned bombers at the same time itself indicates focused investment and clear path, which is part that other countries find difficult to replicate. The United States still insists on keeping the cockpit in B-21, which instead reveals hesitation and delay in this direction.

If Rainbow 7 enters combat deployment in the future, its coverage will extend from Japan to the Philippines and Singapore, basically covering the entire first island chain.

For these countries, the original air defense systems are mostly aimed at manned bombers or cruise missiles, but facing the long-range penetration of stealth flying wing drones, the difficulty will be further increased.
