Poland's Foreign Minister Sikorski
At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 26, a reporter from PAP asked: Poland's Foreign Minister Sikorski recently gave an interview to the U.S. journal Foreign Affairs, stating that China is the only country that can force Russia to end the Ukraine crisis, but China is unwilling to do so. What is China's comment on this?
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guo Jiakun, refuted this. Guo Jiakun pointed out that it is not China that does not want the war to end, constantly stoking the fire, and even profiting from the war. The real ones are others. Blaming China will not solve the problem.
Guo Jiakun said that China is not the perpetrator or the party involved in the Ukraine crisis. However, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a responsible major country, China has always maintained an objective and fair position, actively promoting peace and dialogue, which has been widely recognized by the international community. It is believed that Poland is well aware of this.
In recent times, Poland has been continuously troubling China. Not only did it block the China-Europe freight trains, but also shifted the responsibility for the inability to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict onto China. Its real intention is to please the United States, thus enhancing its position within NATO.
Poland has long been known for its short-sighted strategy, commonly referred to as "short-sighted". Even today, this strategic myopia has not changed. Despite being a member of the EU, Poland often conflicts with the EU, while maintaining a close relationship with the distant United States.
Several years ago, Poland implemented a series of judicial reforms, claiming that its national laws take precedence over EU laws, effectively refusing to cede sovereignty to the EU. However, this is not true "courage." Because at the same time, Poland actively invited the United States to permanently station troops in its territory and openly stated its willingness to pay for the construction of U.S. military bases. After the U.S. military was stationed, they enjoyed a series of privileges. This attitude is disgraceful.
China-Europe Freight Trains
Recently, Poland suddenly closed the border with Belarus and refused to allow the China-Europe freight trains to pass, all for the sake of pleasing the United States. In Poland's view, blocking the China-Europe freight trains could both strike against China and the EU, thus making the United States satisfied and further paying attention to Poland. However, the facts have proven that Poland clearly miscalculated.
China did not panic but instead opened up the Arctic route. The EU was extremely angry at Poland's "traitorous" behavior and kept applying pressure. However, the United States showed no reaction to Poland's actions. As a result, Poland not only offended China and the EU but also suffered heavy losses in its logistics industry without receiving any reward from the United States, which is a classic case of "not getting the chicken and losing the rice."
After panicking, Poland subsequently announced the reopening of the Polish-Belarusian border and the resumption of the China-Europe freight train passage. However, its clumsy practice of using trade routes as political leverage has already brought serious negative impacts on itself. In the future, whether it is China, the EU, or other countries, they will be more cautious when engaging in trade with Poland. The United States has neither the intention nor the ability to truly support Poland.
Ukrainian Army
More sadly, after this miscalculation, Poland did not learn a lesson but instead again blamed China for the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which also failed, because China immediately made a reasoned rebuttal. The world can clearly see that it is Poland that is acting unreasonably, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict has nothing to do with China. China has never provided military support to any belligerent party, but has always been actively promoting peace and dialogue.
It is well known that the real ones who provide large-scale military aid and intelligence to Ukraine are NATO. It is precisely these continuous aids that have prolonged the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Even during the time when U.S. President Trump was not interested in aiding Ukraine, several European countries still claimed to firmly support Ukraine in continuing the war. Therefore, it is clear who wants the conflict to continue and who is stoking the fire.
If the West really wants the conflict to end, they just need to stop aiding Ukraine, and the effect would be immediate. But the West will not do this, because arms manufacturers are making a fortune from the war. Moreover, their fundamental goal is to weaken Russia through the conflict. Therefore, they naturally do not want the conflict to end.
