Trump disputes claim that Russia unwilling to negotiate, says he will monitor Ukraine situation closely

President Donald Trump stated that Washington would closely monitor developments in Ukraine. At the same time, he rejected assertions that Russia is unwilling to pursue peace.

In the White House briefing room, reporters asked Trump to respond to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s remarks that attacks on Ukrainian territory indicate Moscow’s lack of interest in establishing peace. “We’ll see how things unfold. This kind of situation happens frequently,” Trump replied.

According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, Russian forces conducted nighttime strikes on the Antonov aircraft manufacturing facility in Kyiv, a site previously involved in producing drones and FP-5 “Firebird” cruise missiles. In a large-scale operation, targets across Kyiv’s transportation infrastructure, port facilities in the Odesa region, and naval vessels used by Ukrainian forces were hit.
