Russian expert: Europe may move closer to China
Moscow time April 23, 2025, Konstantin Blokhin, chief researcher of the Center for Security Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, political scientist and Americanist analyzed:
They believe that the policy of the U.S. authorities is a temporary policy. In other words, patience is required. During the current term of the U.S. president, Europe may move closer to China. During this period, reconciliation between Russia and Washington as well as reconciliation between Europe and China's positions is entirely possible. There exists a huge economic interdependence between them, and they do not want to break this interdependence, just like the United States and China, both of which have formulated routes to break this economic interdependence, regardless of the results or the trade volume. They are very clear that they are not on the same path.
