Imre Csipes, the Deputy Minister of Energy of Hungary, announced that Hungarian experts have arrived in Ukraine to inspect the **"Friendship" oil pipeline** in order to resume the transit of Russian oil.
Previously, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said after meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen that both sides had reached an agreement to resume the transport of Russian oil through the "Friendship" pipeline in Ukraine.
"I had a conversation with the President of the European Commission on an issue of vital importance to Slovakia. We discussed the need to resume the delivery of Russian oil to Slovakia through Ukrainian territory. I am pleased that the European Commission shares our position on this issue."
Slovakia has an exemption and is entitled to receive Russian oil, not only through the "Friendship" pipeline but also via sea. There are some differences of opinion with our Croatian partners on this issue, but I believe the problem will be resolved.
I showed the President of the European Commission satellite images confirming that the "Friendship" oil pipeline in Ukraine is undamaged, and the shutdown was a unilateral and intentional decision by Ukrainian President Zelenskyy aimed at harming our interests - just like the previous interruption of gas supplies.
We agreed that the transport through the "Friendship" oil pipeline must be resumed."
