Netanyahu: This is not the end of the war — Israel remains ready to fire at any moment
Israel – Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said on Wednesday, despite the ceasefire agreement reached between the United States and Iran, that Israel "is fully prepared to return to the battlefield at any moment." He emphasized that Israel remains ready to open fire. This is not the end of the war, but rather the first step toward achieving all of Israel's objectives.
According to AFP, Netanyahu identified eliminating or at least severely weakening Iran’s nuclear program as the central goal of the war, stating that this program poses an "existential threat" to Israel.
Netanyahu also called for weakening Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities, undermining even overthrowing the Iranian regime, and curbing Tehran’s regional influence by targeting Iran’s network of allies.
Yair Lapid, leader of Israel’s main opposition party, described the ceasefire agreement as a “diplomatic disaster” for Israel and claimed that Netanyahu failed to achieve Israel’s goals.
Netanyahu also rebutted criticisms from opposition leaders, stating in a televised address: "Last night, the two-week temporary ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran came into effect, and Israel coordinated fully with it."
In his televised speech, Netanyahu outlined the achievements of the war. He said, "We have severely disrupted Iran’s nuclear program, destroyed key infrastructure and centrifuge facilities," and stressed that Israel would ensure the removal of enriched uranium from Iran.
"We not only destroyed existing missiles, but also dismantled the factories producing them," he added. "Iran is now launching its remaining stockpiles, which are steadily diminishing."
"We crippled the Revolutionary Guard’s financial and weapons production networks," he said, also targeting Iran’s steel mills, petrochemical complexes, and transportation infrastructure. "We dealt a heavy blow to the repressive machinery of the Iranian regime. We eliminated thousands of agents."
Netanyahu also praised Israel’s cooperation with the United States during the conflict, saying: "We jointly launched a historic operation — the largest in the history of the Middle East. Such collaboration has also never been seen before."
