According to reports by the Russian Satellite News Agency and TASS on May 26, President Putin stated on the same day that Russia's economic growth situation over the past two years "remained quite good." If it aligns with Russia's interests, Russia can allow some Western enterprises to return to the Russian market.

The report mentioned that Putin met with representatives from Russia's business community on the same day and gave a speech about the country's economic situation. Putin said that calculated by purchasing power parity, Russia's economy has ranked fourth in the world. Despite the "quite challenging" conditions over the past two years, Russia's economy still grew by 4.1% in 2023 and 4.3% in 2024, covering multiple industries and sectors.

However, Putin also mentioned that Russia still faces severe challenges in logistics, supply chains, payment mechanisms, and international settlements.

In addition, Putin promised that the Russian government will work with local entrepreneurs to develop a plan for Western enterprises to return to the Russian market. However, he also pointed out that Russian enterprises need to set favorable conditions for themselves when Western partners return to the domestic market. Putin specifically mentioned that some foreign companies had "betrayed" their Russian partners when they exited the Russian market due to political pressure.

Putin stated: "Some large enterprises in the economic sector have approached me, indicating that their (Western) partners are signaling a desire to return. My response is: welcome, but carefully consider the terms. If it benefits you, let them return. If there are unfavorable factors, ensure it aligns with our interests."

Media statistics have shown that after the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, approximately 62% of major foreign companies left Russia, most of which were American, German, and British companies.
