Xiaomi Auto Accelerates the Launch of YU7 to Challenge Tesla Model Y

Overseas media: China's Xiaomi Motor is accelerating the launch of its second electric vehicle, YU7, to challenge Tesla Model Y's dominant position. Due to strong consumer interest in this luxury SUV, sales are scheduled to begin at the end of June instead of July as originally planned.

This accelerated release plan is due to the high level of consumer attention on this model, especially after Xiaomi strengthened its production capacity. Xiaomi President Lu Weibing revealed that the pre-sale inquiries for YU7 far exceeded the pre-sale demand for the first model, SU7. After SU7 was released in March 2024, it quickly received over 70,000 orders.

Although Xiaomi has not announced the pricing and delivery date for YU7, the vehicle is expected to become a strong competitor to Tesla Model Y.
