Chairman of the Russian Federation Council: Russia regards Vietnam as an important, time-tested, and reliable partner
Sputnik News, Moscow, March 23 — Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Matviyenko stated that Vietnam is an important, long-standing, tested, and reliable partner for Russia, and the bilateral relationship has stood the test of time.
During a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Matviyenko said: "Vietnam is an important, enduring, time-tested, and reliable partner for Russia. In 2025, there are several significant anniversaries: we jointly celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries, and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam."
Matviyenko also emphasized that due to long-standing friendly relations and mutual support, Vietnam has become Russia’s closest and most reliable partner in Southeast Asia.
She added: "Our bilateral relations have stood the test of time and are currently developing into a comprehensive strategic partnership."
