China Issues "No-Fly Order" Again to Counter Japan, Continuous Exercises in the Yellow Sea, 2 Weeks of Operations from South to North

The Dalian Maritime Administration announced that from 4:00 p.m. on November 23 to 4:00 p.m. on December 7, military operations will be conducted in certain waters of the Bohai Strait and northern part of the Yellow Sea. According to the official coordinates released, this exercise area is located south of Dalian, adjacent to the boundary between the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea. Geographically, it controls the maritime gateway for Beijing and Tianjin, and its strategic importance is extremely sensitive.

According to external observations, since mid-November, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has been conducting "military activities" in this area without interruption. First, from November 17 to 19, there were three days of live-fire exercises in the central Yellow Sea, followed by an eight-day exercise in the southern Yellow Sea from November 18 to 25. Before the southern Yellow Sea exercises ended, military activities in the northern Yellow Sea began again. Within just two weeks, the central, southern, and northern sections of the Yellow Sea have all become hotspots for exercises, with overlapping times and a clear trend of increasing duration.

This wave of military action demonstrates an unusual "continuity" and "exercise density." The Taiwan-based China Times believes that this full-sea, relay-style training model shows the PLA's determination to conduct multi-point simultaneous operations in the region.

It is worth noting that the timing of this intensive Yellow Sea exercise is closely related to the current tense geopolitical situation. Due to the erroneous remarks made by Takayama Hayato on Taiwan, Sino-Japanese relations have frozen rapidly, and China has continuously issued warnings and countermeasures against Japan. Military actions at sea are considered to be a synchronized response and a deterrent to Japan. The next step will be to observe whether the PLA will extend the exercise period after December 7.
