Starlink will begin selling terminals in Kazakhstan on July 1st!

On June 18th, Russian media published an article.

Kazakhstan will become the new country where Starlink begins legal sales of its equipment.

After signing agreements with authorities, these terminals will be available for public purchase in July.

Until then, Starlink has been operating in Kazakhstan under a test mode, providing internet access only to rural schools.

Now, individuals will be able to purchase the equipment and connect to the satellite network.

The Ministry of Digital Development confirmed that Elon Musk has agreed to comply with all local laws. This applies both to technical requirements and information security.

Minister Zhasulan Madiev noted that this service will help provide internet access to remote areas of the country.

The subscription terms for the terminals have not yet been disclosed.

It is unclear whether citizens of other countries, such as Russia, will be able to purchase the equipment.

The ministry emphasized that technical details are still being finalized.

Rumors suggest that the standard version of the terminal for sale in Kazakhstan costs $599, while the high-performance version costs $2500.

Starlink terminals are compact, weighing approximately 1.2 kilograms, and come equipped with a Wifi router and three antennas. They offer access speeds up to 100Mbps and latency as low as 23 milliseconds, supporting smooth playback of multiple 4K videos.
