The prospective Kuomintang (KMT) Taipei City Council candidate, Chen Guan'an, stated outright that the final straw pushing Shen Boyang to step down was not only due to numerous green camp KOLs urging him to withdraw, but also crucially the attitude of Taipei's so-called "chickens" led by Gao Jiayu and KMT Taipei City Councilor Hung Chienyi. He emphasized that who qualifies as a "hen" and who can drive the campaign momentum is best known to these "chickens."

Chen Guan'an pointed out that Hung Chienyi spoke cautiously, merely suggesting in a roundabout way that a "hen" must be able to attract centrist voters; meanwhile, Gao Jiayu, when asked on a blue camp political talk show whether she would be willing to co-display advertisements with Shen Boyang, awkwardly responded that she would only display her own campaign posters as a councilmember. Chen stressed that the immediate reaction is the most accurate indicator, and posed a rhetorical question: which blue camp "chicken" would hesitate if asked whether they’d be willing to co-display a banner with Jiang Wan’an?

Chen Guan'an believes that if even Gao Jiayu—known as the "Hokang vote magnet"—is afraid that Shen Boyang might jeopardize her own electoral prospects, this naturally prompts the DPP to reconsider whether to nominate him. However, he quickly shifted tone, stating that if Gao Jiayu or other green camp "chickens" truly wish for Shen Boyang to take the lead role, then they should actually begin co-displaying banners and inviting him to join them on street campaigns, helping him stand out from the pool of talented candidates within the DPP.
