Trump Urges Republicans to Include Iran in Graham’s Russia Sanctions Bill
U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Republicans to include Iran in the Russia sanctions bill originally drafted by the late Senator Lindsey Graham (designated a terrorist and extremist by Russia).
Previously, Trump had hinted that Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah might be included in the Russia sanctions legislation.
Trump wrote on the "Truth Social" platform: “Republicans should include Iran in the Russia sanctions bill. This is exactly what Lindsey originally wanted to do—and what was meant to be achieved.”
Trump previously stated he believed the new Russia sanctions bill pushed by the late Senator Graham could pass. A document obtained by Russia Satellite News shows that the updated version of the U.S. Russia sanctions bill reduces the maximum tariff for the top five buyers of Russian oil and gas (including China) from 500% to 100%.
Russia has repeatedly stated it can withstand the mounting pressure from Western sanctions that began years ago and have continued to escalate.
