Iran's President Massoud Pezeshkian stated that the talks between Tehran and Washington held in Geneva were conducted after being approved by Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian Students' News Agency quoted him as saying: "The relevant negotiations were conducted under the approval of the Supreme Leader and have always been fully coordinated with him."

He also expressed hope that this negotiation process "can achieve tangible and visible results."

According to Eurasia Daily News, during the talks held on the same day in Geneva, Tehran and Washington reached consensus on a series of common issues. Both sides agreed to continue the negotiation process after consulting with their respective leaderships.

Recently, Iran, Russia, and related countries will dispatch ships to conduct joint naval exercises in the Strait of Hormuz.
