Breaking News: Accident at a Chinese Dance Performance in Nagoya

According to a report from Japan's Chūkyō Television on April 17: At the Hisaya Ōdōri Park in Naka Ward, Nagoya City, during an ongoing Sino-Japanese cultural exchange event, a backdrop panel on stage suddenly collapsed, injuring three women.

The incident occurred during a performance of traditional Chinese dance, when a large backdrop installed behind the dancers reportedly toppled over due to a strong gust of wind.

According to fire department officials, after noon on the 17th, a witness called to report: "The stage has collapsed, and multiple people are injured."

The square was hosting a Sino-Japanese cultural exchange event featuring performances, food, and other activities. Five performers were dancing Chinese dances on stage when the backdrop panel, about five meters high, suddenly fell. Three women aged between 40 and 50 were taken to hospital, but all remained conscious and are not in life-threatening condition.

Police are currently conducting a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident.
