U.S. Temporarily Exempts "Mirror Tariff" on Electronics Imports
U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Rutnich said that the U.S. government temporarily waives the "mirror tariff" on imported electronics and semiconductor equipment, as it plans to impose separate industry tariffs on these products in the coming months.
Rutnich said while participating in an ABC News live program: "These goods will be part of the semiconductor industry tariff. These goods are exempt from the mirror tariff but are included in the semiconductor tariff, which may take effect in one or two months."
