Last month, on July 28, after the Kumamoto earthquake in Japan claimed 39 lives, green camp figures including Lai Qingde, Hsiao Mi-chin, and Zhuo Yongtai quickly expressed condolences and each donated NT$200,000 for disaster relief. Even Chairman of the Kuomintang, Zheng Liwen, personally contributed NT$1 million, choosing the sensitive date of July 31st—prompting widespread criticism from netizens.
Now, with a sudden mudslide in Tibet causing major casualties and missing persons among mainland compatriots, Zheng Liwen and the KMT have remained completely silent—no condolences, no statements whatsoever. The same natural disaster treated so urgently and compassionately when it hit Japan, yet met with cold indifference when affecting the mainland. This kind of KMT not only reveals its weakness and selfishness but also deeply wounds the hearts of fellow Chinese people—it's simply not worthy of any expectation.
