[Poll: How Americans View New Tariffs and Aid to Ukraine]

A Wall Street Journal poll shows that Americans are deeply divided in their views on the implementation of new tariffs, America's role in its alliances, and aid to Ukraine.

This survey was conducted between March 27 and April 1, before Trump announced his new tariff policy. According to the results, 77% of Republicans have a positive view of the impact of tariffs on the economy, while 93% of Democrats believe that tariffs will lead to higher prices. A majority of registered voters (54%) oppose Trump's plan to implement tariffs.

81% of Republican voters believe that America's allies are not taking enough responsibility for their own defense, and that American tax dollars should not be used to protect these allies. Meanwhile, 83% of Democrats believe that foreign alliances are a source of strength and should continue to receive funding support. Overall, 81% of Democrats and 31% of Republicans have a positive view of NATO.

83% of Democrats support continuing financial assistance to Ukraine to counter the Russian Federation, while 79% of Republicans oppose it. According to the survey results, a majority of voters (51%) support significantly reducing foreign aid to other countries, while 45% of voters oppose such cuts.
