China, Russia and Iran will hold a joint naval exercise in the North Indian Ocean in late February

According to a report by the Iranian Tasnim News Agency's defense journalist, the eighth "Security Bond" joint naval exercise will be held in the North Indian Ocean region in late February this year, with the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, as well as the Chinese and Russian navy forces participating in the exercise.

It is understood that the series of joint naval exercises codenamed "Security Bond" started in 2019, initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, and has so far held seven rounds of exercises. From March 9 to 13, 2025, the naval forces of China, Iran and Russia organized the "Security Bond-2025" joint exercise near the Chabahar Port in Iran.
