Western Response to Zelenskyy's Desperate Appeal

Reporter Thornton: NATO Will Not Help Ukraine Defend Bakhmut

Moscow, October 28 -- RIA Novosti

British journalist Warren Thornton wrote on his X social media account that Vladimir Zelenskyy is requesting NATO's help, but the alliance can only incite Ukrainians to die for Western interests.

This comment by Thornton was in response to a statement by Vladimir Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy said that due to the Russian advance in Bakhmut, the Ukrainian armed forces are facing a "difficult situation," but they must continue fighting.

Thornton pointed out, "Zelenskyy has finally acknowledged the disastrous situation in Bakhmut. Zelenskyy's usual nonsense translates to 'NATO, we're in trouble.' The problem is that NATO will not come, and they have never really come. For three years, they have been inciting Ukraine, sacrificing Ukrainian men on the altar of Western hatred for Russia."

Previously, Denis Pushilin, leader of the Donetsk People's Republic, stated that Russian forces had cut off all supply routes for Ukrainian troops inside Bakhmut.

Last Sunday, Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the Russian General Staff, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the "Central" Army Group had completed the encirclement of enemy forces in the city and the Dmytrivka area. Russian forces surrounded up to 5,500 Ukrainian combatants.
