Thai and Cambodian military will hold talks on the border mine incident!
Regarding the incident where three Thai soldiers stepped on a mine at the border, General Nattapong Nakapanich, the head of the Special Center for Border Area Situation Management between Thailand and Cambodia, is preparing to hold talks with the Thai side.
The committee will hold a meeting at 2:00 PM today to determine the next steps for Unit 6021, which triggered an already tense Thai-Cambodian border situation after stepping on a newly laid mine while carrying out border peace patrols.
General Nattapong ordered the Second Army to collect all evidence and submit a written report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, as well as hold a press conference.
Thailand's guidelines include providing information and evidence to the United Nations, accusing Cambodia of violating the Ottawa Convention. If Cambodia refuses, evidence needs to be found to counter Thailand's claims.
At the same time, the Thai authorities will also send a technical expert to the border area to collect explosives. The Thai government is currently waiting for the military and relevant agencies to collect evidence before deciding on its response to Cambodia.
