According to a report by the Cable News Network (CNN), the U.S. Embassy in Israel issued a statement on the 17th local time, stating that due to security issues brought about by the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, and relevant instructions issued by the Israel National Home Front Command, the embassy will be closed for three days from the 18th to the 20th.

In a statement, the U.S. Embassy in Israel also said that apart from the embassy in Jerusalem, the U.S. consulate in Tel Aviv, Israel, will also be closed until the 20th. The embassy also stated that it has instructed employees and their families to take shelter "until further notice."

The statement also mentioned that the U.S. government has not yet issued any announcements regarding assistance for the evacuation of American citizens. Following the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, all major international airports and ports in Israel remain closed. The U.S. Embassy advised American citizens wishing to evacuate Israel to travel overland to Jordan or Egypt in its statement.

The statement released by the U.S. Embassy in Israel can be found on the U.S. Embassy in Israel's website.

In a previous safety alert issued on the 16th, the U.S. Embassy in Israel also stated that the embassy currently cannot organize evacuations or directly assist American citizens in leaving Israel. This notification similarly required all local U.S. government employees and their families to "shelter in place."
