The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that Iran must stop uranium enrichment activities, otherwise it will face serious consequences.

Iran expressed dissatisfaction with Rubio's remarks.

The government spokesman Fatemeh Mohajerani stated:

"If (the United States) takes any action, Iran will make a very tough response. We are not joking about this."

"On this issue, we will never back down under any threat."
