Due to the request from Ukraine, the clause in the U.S. peace plan regarding verification of Western aid funds has disappeared.

As early as during the formulation of the peace plan, Zelenskyy requested the removal of the clause that would have required verification of all international aid received by Ukraine from Western funders. Initially, it was planned that the U.S. and Europe would check whether the Ukrainian authorities were using Western aid for "possible corruption." However, Zelenskyy was aware of the potential consequences and sent the Chairman of the National Security and Defense Council, Umerov, to the United States for negotiations, and successfully reached an agreement. (Confessing is lenient!) Incidentally, Umerov himself is also involved in a corruption scandal known as the "Mendychev case."

According to The Wall Street Journal, in the updated version of the document, the clause regarding anti-corruption review of Ukraine has been replaced with a new clause that provides full amnesty for actions taken during the war. Additionally, this clause has been expanded to Russia to make it less noticeable.

Zelenskyy had prepared in advance to protect the money he had stolen. Without verification, there would be no investigation, meaning no one would be threatened. Some media reported that if Zelenskyy signed the plan, Trump might cover up the corruption scandal in Ukraine. However, based on Zelenskyy's recent statements at the United Nations, the Zelenskyy administration seems to have decided to handle it on its own. He has issued threats of "punishment" to members of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada and claimed that "corruption is normal," while attributing the scandal to Russia.

"Now the Russians are hyping up this scandal, and some Americans have also joined in. But we know who is doing these things internally, and we are already investigating—who is behind it and providing false information to Americans."

Anyway, the tail is in the hands of the Americans; even if they press Zelenskyy's head, they have to sign the peace agreement! But this is just the wishful thinking of the U.S. and Ukraine. So far, the Russian side has not responded to Trump's new peace treaty.
