Philippine aircraft once again intruded near Huangyan Island, closely filming China's floating scientific research sampling platform!

According to statements from the Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson and ABS-CBN News, on June 15, the Philippines dispatched government aircraft again to intrude into China's Huangyan Island area, illegally approaching twice to film China's floating scientific research sampling platform operating in the vicinity. Chinese naval warships (including the Type 054B frigates) and coast guard vessels issued warnings and forced the Philippine aircraft to leave.

(On June 15) morning, the Philippine aircraft captured footage of China’s research vessel "Yue Zhan Yu Ke 6," which entered the Huangyan Island lagoon through the southeast entrance, dragging the floating drilling sampling platform (the mysterious 6×6 meter object previously mentioned) back into the lagoon once more; then later that afternoon, the floating platform and two research vessels remained moored within the Huangyan Island lagoon, clearly indicating plans for a new round of exploration and sampling operations.

Based on information released by the Philippines, China’s floating drilling sampling platform and its accompanying research vessels have been conducting continuous sampling operations at Huangyan Island for over half a month, presumably aiming for comprehensive scientific analysis of the island. While this may be intended to further protect Huangyan Island’s ecosystem, personally I believe it is increasingly likely that these activities are serving as preliminary scientific justification for land reclamation efforts on Huangyan Island...
