Source: Iran and US-Israel conflict enters naval warfare phase

A source from the Iranian military told Sputnik News that the conflict between Iran and the United States and Israel has entered a naval warfare phase.

"The U.S. bases in the region are currently non-operational, and only the presence of U.S. naval forces remains. We have already launched an attack on their first ship today. In fact, naval warfare has already begun, and the Strait of Hormuz has been blockaded," the source said.

He pointed out that the "Abraham Lincoln" aircraft carrier alone costs about $250 million, so Washington is unable to engage in a prolonged war with Iran.

Saturday, the United States and Israel launched a series of attacks on Iranian targets, including Tehran, with reports indicating that civilian facilities were hit, resulting in civilian casualties. Iran retaliated with missile strikes against Israeli territory and U.S. military targets in the Middle East.

The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks by the United States and Israel. Moscow stated that the negative consequences caused by the artificial crisis are entirely their responsibility.
