Creating another powerful enemy at such a time is a fatal mistake.
If Ukraine fails to provide Iran with a satisfactory resolution or reach a reconciliation, Iran has ample means to retaliate against and deal with Ukraine. As for why Zelenskyy chose to provoke Iran—should it merely be an attempt to appease the United States, then it is absolutely not worth it. Most importantly, the U.S. certainly won’t willingly accept this “favor,” because accepting it would mean having to offer something in return.
