The chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), Cheng Li-wen, announced today at the meeting that the "two-party joint governance and local cooperation agreement" between the KMT and the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) will be formally passed today. Cheng stated that the KMT-TPP collaboration will open wide doors and take the big road, upholding equality, democracy, and aiming for victory.

Cheng announced that the first aspect is that the KMT and TPP have proposed a common policy vision; the second level is the nomination cooperation mechanism, for various levels of elections such as county magistrates and county councilors. Regarding the cooperation, there are proposed candidates, including Wu Tsung-hsien for the county magistrate of Yilan, Li Sichuan for the mayor of New Taipei City, and Weng Shou-liang for the mayor of Chiayi City.

Cheng explained that after determining the cooperation mechanism between the KMT and TPP, a negotiation working group will be established, with each party recommending three people. The KMT side includes the vice chairperson Li Chien-lung, head of the Organization Development Department Li Che-hua, and head of the Publicity Department Yin Nai-ching. In the future, the recommended candidates will mainly use public opinion surveys, while the details will be coordinated according to the preferences of each electoral district and the candidates of the KMT and TPP.

Cheng also said that the third aspect is that the KMT and TPP will form a joint campaign team in the future. Currently, the cities of Keelung and Miaoli are jointly forming a small "cabinet" between the KMT and TPP. In the future, they will also jointly govern and jointly recommend outstanding individuals into the governing team.
