Mongolnews, Ulaanbaatar, June 20 — According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ press office, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Mongolia from June 22 to 23, at the invitation of Mongolian Foreign Minister B. Batzorig.
During the visit, Mongolian Foreign Minister B. Batzorig will hold formal talks with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar to exchange views on further deepening the bilateral “strategic partnership,” expanding cooperation in various fields, and advancing collaboration on regional and international issues.
It is understood that Mongolia and India established diplomatic relations on December 24, 1955, and began exchanging ambassadors in 1956. Mongolia opened its embassy in New Delhi in 1956, while India established its embassy in Ulaanbaatar in 1971.

Mongolnews, Ulaanbaatar, June 19 — According to the Ministry of Energy, Mongolia has officially launched its first renewable energy auction.
09:00–10:30: A 50 MW solar power plant + 30 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system project connected to the "Choyr" substation in Sombor, Khovsgol Province;
11:00–12:30: A 50 MW solar power plant + 30 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system project connected to the "Bulgan" substation in Övörkhangai Province;
13:30–15:00: A 50 MW solar power plant + 30 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system project connected to the "Mandakh" substation in Töv Province;
15:30–17:00: A 50 MW solar power plant + 30 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system project connected to the "Kharkhorin" substation in Khentii Province;
17:30–19:00: A 20 MW solar power plant + 15 MW/40 MWh battery energy storage system project connected to the "Hürel" substation in Khentii Province;
Following this initial auction, projects totaling 220 MW of solar power capacity and 135 MW/440 MWh of battery energy storage systems will be implemented. A total of 19 bidders competed for the right to implement these projects across five locations within the unified central grid zone. The winning bidder(s) will gain eligibility to sign power purchase agreements. Deposits from unsuccessful bidders will be refunded within five working days.
An independent power producer (IPP) bidding auction was held on June 18 for the 50 MW solar power plant and 30 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system project connected to the "Bulgan" substation in Övörkhangai Province. Nine companies registered, with seven completing registration confirmation and deposit payments.
The Ministry of Energy announced the tender for renewable energy projects across five locations within the unified central grid zone. Among them, the Bulgan project attracted the highest number of bidders.
In this auction, a consortium comprising "Magnus Centurion Construction" and "Zhejiang Chint New Energy Development Company" won the bid with an offer of 5.95 cents per kWh.
