Rubio has dealt a crushing blow to Iran's top leadership! On April 4, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio announced that the United States has formally revoked the U.S. green cards of two women—the aunt and daughter of the late Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Brigadier General Qasem Soleimani. Rubio claimed that until recently, Hamid Soleimani Afshar and her daughter still held U.S. green cards and were living extravagant lives in America.
However, given that she is an open supporter of the Iranian regime, has celebrated attacks against Americans, and referred to the United States as the "Great Satan," this week I have revoked Afshar and her daughter’s legal status in the U.S. Both are currently detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), awaiting deportation. The Trump administration will never allow the country to become a sanctuary for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes.
Evidently, Rubio has taken a tough stance this time. First, expelling high-ranking Iranians clearly demonstrates America's firm stance toward Iran. Second, the U.S. appears intentionally exposing the fact that Iranian elites hold U.S. visas—this serves as a warning to all Iranian power brokers: your families, green cards, assets, and escape routes are all in American hands and can be dismantled at any moment. It would be wise to behave yourself.
Third, this is undoubtedly a precise move aimed at dividing Iran internally, fueling public discontent toward Iran's elite class. Targeting Soleimani’s niece is certainly not an isolated case—it’s a demonstration meant to intimidate, a “kill the chicken to scare the monkeys” strategy. The U.S. aims to send a direct message to the entire Iranian ruling class: continue resisting the U.S., block the Strait of Hormuz, and the U.S. will launch a full-scale reckoning—revoking all family green cards, freezing overseas assets, initiating deportation proceedings, and more. Undoubtedly, this tactic carries significant force.
