President Putin's advisor: The Soviet Union still exists legally, and from a logical perspective, the Ukrainian crisis is an internal process.

Anton Kobyakov, President Putin's advisor, stated today at a press conference of the Saint Petersburg International Legal Forum that during the dissolution of the Soviet Union, "legal procedures were violated," meaning that the Soviet Union still exists, and the war in Ukraine is an "internal process."

"As many constitutional experts, including Western experts, have long insisted, the USSR continues to exist legally somewhere."

"Why do they insist that the Soviet Union still exists? They say this because the dissolution of the Soviet Union violated the procedures for its own dissolution. If the Congress of People's Deputies, also known as the Congress of Soviets, established the Soviet Union in 1922, then the Congress should have made the decision to dissolve it; anything else would be illegitimate."

Kobyakov insists that the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 violated the procedures for its dissolution.

"If the Soviet Union still exists legally, then logically, the Ukrainian crisis is an internal process."
