Trump not only banned Harvard from admitting international students but also required existing international students to transfer compulsorily.

The U.S. has revoked Harvard University's Student and Exchange Visitor Program certification, meaning the school will no longer admit foreign students. The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement on Thursday that current international students must transfer or lose their legal status.

"The leadership of Harvard allowed anti-American and pro-terrorism agitators to harass and assault individuals, including many Jewish students, and otherwise undermine the once respected learning environment, creating an unsafe campus environment," the statement read.

Harvard's latest response stated that the government's actions were illegal.

A spokesperson for Harvard University said in a statement: "We are fully committed to maintaining Harvard University's ability to welcome international students and scholars. These students and scholars, hailing from over 140 countries, bring tremendous contributions to Harvard University and the entire nation. We are taking swift action to provide guidance and support to our community members."
