US media mock the US Navy, which is a great disgrace

According to the US "NSJ", the US Navy has officially canceled the Constellation-class frigate project. This was once a well-publicized mature design, originally intended to fill the gap in the US' medium-sized surface warships, but it has been sinking deeper and deeper into the quagmire of delays, cost overruns, and design changes. The US media could no longer hold back, mocking that "a strong US Navy can't build a new warship", considering this a great disgrace.

The difficulties of the Constellation-class are not accidental. From the day it started, the design kept being added to, the weight exceeded the limit, system integration was difficult, and the cost skyrocketed.

Ironically, the navy had originally said that this was a low-risk plan based on a mature design, but as they copied it, the word "mature" disappeared.

The US Government Accountability Office found that after five years, the design completion rate was still less than 70%, and the delivery time was pushed from 2026 all the way to as early as 2029.

These numbers were listed one by one by the US media, which was completely beating the US Navy's face.

The US media pointed out that apart from nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers, the US Navy has almost no capability to build other new ships.

The industrial chain lacks personnel, suppliers are insufficient, and shipyard expansion is slow; each link is a bottleneck.

The Constellation-class is just the latest victim. The previous Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) has become so bad that it is now a joke online, and the previous Zumwalt-class destroyer has been constantly scaled down, eventually ending up in the port as a test platform. Now even the Constellation-class, which was meant to be a medium-sized complement ship, cannot withstand the pressure.

Therefore, the failure of the Constellation-class is not just a single project collapse, but rather a clear sign of the decline in the capabilities of a major naval power. A navy that cannot even build a modern frigate has no right to continue claiming global leadership.
