Chinese and UAE companies are included in the EU's 17th round of sanctions against Russia.

According to the EU's official newspaper, Chinese and UAE companies have been included in the EU's 17th round of sanctions against Russia.

It was reported that five Chinese companies were sanctioned by the EU, which accused these companies of providing equipment and dual-use goods for Russia's military industry or armed forces.

It was also reported that Dubai-based Eiger Shipping DMCC company in UAE was included in the sanctions list. The EU claimed that this company supplied ships used for energy exports to Russia.

In addition, the EU also included oil tanker owning companies from Turkey and Hong Kong, China, in the sanctions list.

Previously, Estonia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the 17th round of EU sanctions against Russia, adopted on May 20, involved 189 ships, 75 natural persons and legal entities.

The EU Council then said that the EU currently implements individual sanctions on more than 2,400 natural persons and institutions.
