Reference News Network, November 28 report - According to AFP, November 26 report, Shenzhen UBTech Robotics Co., Ltd. announced that the company has won a contract worth tens of millions of dollars to provide its latest model of humanoid robots for a demonstration project, and these robots will be used to guide passengers and personnel at some border ports in China.

The company recently said that it has reached an agreement worth about $37 million with a humanoid robot testing center located near the China-Vietnam border.

This project will mainly use UBTech's Walker series robots to test the performance of humanoid robots in practical application scenarios such as border management, logistics processing, and factory patrols.

UBTech said that it will begin delivering these self-charging robots to the center in December.

The Chinese government has been encouraging domestic enterprises to develop humanoid robots, hoping to lead the development of the global robotics industry.

A report released by Lide CTC Company in April predicted that by 2025, the scale of the Chinese humanoid robot market is expected to reach 8.2 billion yuan, accounting for half of the global sales.

This month, a robot manufactured by Shanghai Zhiyuan Robotics Company set a Guinness World Record for the longest walking distance by a humanoid robot, completing a three-day journey covering over 100 kilometers.

In August, Beijing hosted the world's first humanoid robot sports event, where more than 500 "athletes" competed in various events such as basketball and cleaning skills.

UBTech stated on the 25th that the sales of its Walker series robots have reached 1.1 billion yuan this year so far.

During an interview with the media this month, UBTech executive Tan Min said: "The number of orders we have received far exceeds the published quantity." (Translation/ Wang Diqing)
