US Announces: Tariff Exemptions for Certain Chinese Industrial Products, Including Solar Energy Products, Extended for One Year

Reuters reported that the US announced on Wednesday that it will extend tariff exemptions for certain Chinese industrial and medical products for one year, including equipment used in the production of solar energy products. This is part of a trade truce agreement reached earlier this month between the US and China.

President Trump of the US imposed "Section 301" tariffs during his first term over China's intellectual property practices. These exemptions had been extended multiple times previously, and were originally set to expire on November 29.

The Office of the US Trade Representative stated in a statement: "This extension of exemptions is a follow-up action to the historic trade and economic agreement announced by the White House on November 1, 2025."

This measure covers 14 types of equipment related to the production of solar energy products, as well as 164 types of various industrial and medical products, including motors, blood pressure monitoring devices, pump assemblies, automotive air compressors, and printed circuit boards.
