Foreign media: Chinese scientific teams have found that betaine naturally produced by the kidneys during long-term exercise can delay aging.
The study reveals that betaine, as a core messenger, prevents inflammation and multi-organ aging by inhibiting the TBK1 enzyme, elucidating the molecular mechanism of exercise in delaying aging. This achievement was completed by a joint team from the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Beijing Institute of Genomics. The research was published on June 25 in the peer-reviewed journal "Cell."
The study not only reveals the principles of exercise in delaying aging but also proposes an anti-aging strategy of replicating its benefits through simulated exercise and betaine supplements.
Organizations such as the World Health Organization believe that nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management are the four pillars of health. Research shows that exercise has a significant impact on aging. However, the molecular mechanisms of exercise and longevity, as well as the differences in health benefits from different exercise patterns, still require further exploration. The study points out that betaine supplementation can precisely mimic the benefits of long-term exercise.
