According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated during his visit to the UAE that the U.S. is preparing for a strong increase in demand for oil and natural gas, with the main factor being the development of artificial intelligence (AI).

Wright said at a press conference held in Abu Dhabi that the U.S. is preparing for a new phase of strong growth in demand for oil and natural gas in the coming years, while expecting production to also increase.

He pointed out that the demand for natural gas and electricity required to operate data processing centers will grow, and AI will be a key factor in this growth.

The U.S. Energy Secretary arrived in the UAE on Thursday, marking his first overseas trip since taking office. This kicks off his Middle East tour, during which he will also visit two other countries in the region.
