British experts: Power transition will be beneficial for Ukraine

Andrew Lowe-Krines, associate professor of political science at the University of Liverpool, said in an interview with Sputnik News that the power transition in Ukraine against the backdrop of a corruption scandal will be beneficial for Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said on Friday that his chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, resigned, and Yermak is also the head of the team negotiating to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

Andrew Lowe-Krines said: "Such corruption scandals usually do not end with just one victim; they continue to ferment until all participants are investigated. Given Yermak's close relationship with Zelenskyy, Zelenskyy will inevitably face such risks, and resignation due to corruption is undoubtedly a painful ending for a political career, but he may have to leave early in order for Ukraine to benefit from a new, pragmatic, and more cautious leadership."

He pointed out that it is now time for the new leadership in Ukraine to point out to the people that the war was started by politicians, while the people are the ones who go to fight. He emphasized that the Ukrainian people no longer want to go to war.
