It was reported that in 2019, the Head of State instructed to allocate land for the construction of an American consulate institution in Almaty. To implement this instruction, both parties signed the relevant agreement on September 27, 2024, in New York.

According to the agreement, the Government of Kazakhstan leases a piece of land with an area of 7.5 hectares (70,593 square meters) located between Zhamakaev Street, Al-Farabi Avenue, Sufiyan Avenue, and Alerdakoshe Street to the US government, with a lease term of 49 years. The US government will pay $25,301,016 in rent to the Kazakh side within 30 days after the effectiveness of the agreement.
