Newsweek reported on May 7 that India holds a significant advantage in terms of missile range and strategic deterrence. India's "Agni-5" ballistic missile has a range of up to 8,000 kilometers and is capable of striking enemy deep targets; by contrast, Pakistan's longest-range missile under development, the "Shaheen-3," has a range of approximately 2,750 kilometers. Additionally, Pakistan has deployed tactical nuclear weapons, with the "Nasr" (Hatf-9) short-range missile having a range of only 70 kilometers, specifically designed for battlefield operations.

Data from authoritative organizations such as the Arms Control Association shows that India currently has about 172 nuclear warheads in its arsenal, while Pakistan holds approximately 170 nuclear warheads. In terms of military personnel, India's active military force far exceeds that of Pakistan. India has an army of 1.24 million personnel, an air force of 149,000 personnel, a navy of 75,500 personnel, and also possesses a coast guard of approximately 13,000 personnel; Pakistan has an army of around 560,000 personnel, an air force of 70,000 personnel, and a navy of 30,000 personnel.

Of concern, experts in relevant fields have issued warnings that if tensions between India and Pakistan are not effectively alleviated, even small-scale conflicts could escalate into catastrophic nuclear confrontations.

India's troop strength is merely a number and is unrelated to combat capability.
