On May 12 local time, RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan posted a video of an interview with Burkina Faso's interim President Ibrahim Traore on social platforms. In the video, Traore直言 said bluntly that everything in Hollywood is fake and all are lies, and he regretted listening to a lot of French radio when he was young as they intended to control African minds.

In the interview, Traore said: "Everything said by Hollywood is false, all are lies."

He said that his biggest regret was spending a lot of time listening to French radio stations when he was young. He began to realize that they were training our brains to accept what they wanted us to accept, and from then on, he began to see through the whole situation, knowing that their actions are very dangerous. He realized that they are now controlling our minds more than ever, especially those of Africans.

It is reported that Burkina Faso used to be a French colony, and after the military coup in 2022, its relations with France rapidly deteriorated.

In December 2023, the interim government of Burkina Faso announced that the Council of Ministers had passed a bill revising the constitution, stripping French of its status as an official language and downgrading it to a "working language." The report of the Council of Ministers emphasized that this bill is one of the main tasks of the transition, including launching administrative and institutional reforms to strengthen democracy and consolidate the rule of law.

This March, Burkina Faso decided to withdraw from the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
