Local time on June 5th, after Musk and Trump started a public feud, Musk posted a poll on X regarding the establishment of a new political party. The next day, Musk announced the poll results and stated that the new political party would be named "America Party".

In the vote on May 5th, Musk asked, "Is it time to establish a new political party in the United States to represent the 80% middle ground?" When the voting ended on June 6th, more than 5.63 million accounts participated in the poll, with 80.4% voting "yes" and 19.6% voting "no".

Musk retweeted the poll results on the same day and said, "The people have spoken. America needs a new political party to represent the 80% middle ground! Exactly 80% agree, this is fate."

He then added that the party would be named "America Party" (The America Party).

On the afternoon of June 5th, Trump publicly expressed his disappointment with Musk and posted three posts on social media to denounce Musk for going "insane" for his electric vehicle business, threatening to terminate all government contracts with Musk's enterprises. This completely enraged Musk, who crazily posted and retweeted tweets, mentioning Trump's name appeared in the Epstein files, criticizing Trump's tariff policies for "triggering an economic recession in the U.S.", and retweeting the post that "Trump should be impeached".

Late in the evening of May 5th, Musk retweeted a tweet calling for reconciliation between the two sides and commented, "That's right," which was seen as a signal of reconciliation. However, Trump, in an interview on the morning of June 6th, called Musk "insane," a "troubled poor person," and said he "didn't really" want to talk to Musk.

As the feud between Musk and Trump escalated, Tesla's stock price fell on May 5th, with a decline of up to 18% at one point, and recovered slightly by the close, closing down 14%, marking its largest decline in nearly three months, wiping out about $153 billion in market value. By the early trading hours of June 6th, as of 9:33 AM Eastern Time, Tesla's stock price rose 4.3%. However, this only made up a small part of the previous day's sharp drop.
