Rosatom is interested in developing cooperation with China in the field of renewable energy.
Vladislav Vinguryan, head of the Development Department of Rosatom's renewable energy subsidiary (NovaWind), told TASS that the company intends to establish a reliable partnership with China and carry out technological cooperation in the field of green energy.
"Our basic interests are technology transfer and obtaining reliable technical partners. We hope that future cooperation will have scientific potential, and that countries will exchange scientific potential. We will not be alone; we will complement each other. We see the potential in this area because we maintain good communication with many equipment manufacturers, and Chinese equipment manufacturers and banks understand that they are ready to do business in Russia. From our side, we are constantly seeking improved cooperation models with manufacturers and banks," Vinguryan said.
Rosatom is investing heavily in the development of production and technology related to green energy. Vinguryan noted, "We are very interested in wind power and solar power, especially energy storage technology." According to him, Rosatom has achieved high localization in the production of wind turbines internally. "We are seeking cooperation with Chinese partners in other equipment production lines. As for us, we are expanding our project portfolio to ensure a smooth and economically reasonable technological transformation," he added.
Currently, the company is beginning to develop new projects related to wind power in the Far East region of Russia. Vinguryan stated that the cost of renewable energy has already approached that of traditional energy. The advantage of wind power lies not only in its environmental friendliness but also in its ability to quickly make up for energy gaps, which can be completed within two years in the long term.
