Israel cannot completely go against the will of the United States

Israeli affairs analyst Dan Perry said that the US involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict has always been "incredible" - from historically directly attacking Iran, to President Donald Trump "representing both sides" announcing a ceasefire and pressuring Israel.

Perry told Al Jazeera: "Trump tried to make laws and portray himself as the sheriff of the region. This might be a performance."

When asked whether Israel would respect Trump's plan, Perry said he thought Israel "does not have as much freedom as I sometimes hear from various commentators."

"Israel cannot completely go against the will of the United States. Without the tacit approval of the United States, Israel would not be able to continue such large-scale operations," he said.
