According to Jato Dynamics, a market research company, BYD registered 7,231 new electric vehicles in Europe in April, a year-on-year increase of 169%, making it one of the top ten best-selling electric vehicle brands in Europe. Tesla's registrations plummeted by 49%, causing its ranking to drop by one position.
Felipe Munoz, an analyst at Jato Dynamics, stated in an email statement: "Although the monthly total sales gap between the two car brands may be small, the impact is significant. This is a watershed moment for the European automotive market."
