Musk-Trump feud takes new turn: Trump doesn't want to talk, considering dealing with his Tesla car bought just a few months ago...
In a phone call early Friday morning, shortly before 7 a.m., when an American media outlet asked about reports that he planned to speak with Musk later that evening, Trump responded with disdain.
"You mean that crazy person?" he retorted, adding that he was "not particularly" interested in talking to Musk. Trump said it was Musk who wanted to talk to him, but he wasn't ready yet.
Additionally, a senior White House official said Trump was considering selling or giving away the red Tesla he purchased earlier this year. Trump bought the car to promote Musk's business at the White House. As of Thursday night, the car was still parked outside the West Wing of the White House.
Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers in the House are criticizing Musk for "going too far," after he hinted that Trump's name appeared "in Epstein's files."
Rep. Pat Fallon of Texas said, "We hope we won't have to answer questions about Elon anymore." He described Musk's comments as "unhelpful."
Rep. Chip Roy of Texas also stated, "Elon has crossed the line today."
On Thursday, as part of a broader attack on the president and Republican leaders over his budget reconciliation bill, Musk mentioned the late pedophile Epstein and linked him to Trump.
The tech billionaire accused Republicans of passing legislation they called Trump's "beautiful big bill," which he claimed increased national debt.
"It's time to drop the real bombshell. (Trump) is in Epstein's files. That's why those files haven't been released. Have a great day, DJT!" Musk wrote on X. "Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out."
Rep. Troy Nehls of Texas said Musk "went too far." "There was absolutely no need to do this," Nehls said. "Those conversations should have taken place privately."
Some Republicans argued that if there were any damaging information about Trump and Epstein, it would have been exposed long ago.
Rep. Randy Fine of Florida said, "I want to say that if Biden had evidence of Trump in Epstein's records, he would have definitely revealed it during the campaign. I don't know what prompted him to say this. I think this whole thing is unfortunate."
Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee questioned why Musk, if he believed Trump had a close association with a pedophile, allowed his young son (nicknamed "X") to stay near Trump.
"The Biden administration would have already brought this up. Democrats hate Trump the most, and he's beating them every day. So, I don't have much confidence in this," Burchett said. "If that were true, why would he let his child stay with the president? It doesn't make sense. Now Musk is calling for his impeachment. I mean, this is getting out of control."
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, who is leading a task force responsible for declassifying federal investigations including Epstein's case, told reporters she believed Musk's insinuation was unfounded.
"Regarding Epstein, I want to clearly state that if President Trump were in Epstein's files, they would have been disclosed during the primaries, but they weren't," Luna said. "So, the fact is, I don't believe President Trump would appear in Epstein's files in the way suggested, but regardless, that's why we continue to push for transparency."
However, Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina had a different response, calling for greater transparency regarding Epstein's files.
"The facts will prove everything," Norman said. "Epstein's files will eventually be made public, so let them be disclosed. We should see them. Americans have the right to know, just like they did with the John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy archives."
White House press secretary Leavitt attributed Musk's criticism to Trump's bill, which focuses on tax cuts for working-class and middle-class Americans without providing enough benefits for Musk and his companies.
Leavitt said, "This is an unfortunate episode for Elon, who is unhappy because the 'great and wonderful bill' does not include the policies he wants. The president is focused on passing this historic legislation to make our country great again."
Sen. Pete Ricketts of Nebraska said, "I can't tell you what motivates Musk, but I can tell you what we're going to do, which is to avoid a $4 trillion tax increase for the American people."
Although it is well known that Trump knew Epstein, a source familiar with the matter pointed out that Trump had expelled Epstein from his Palm Beach golf club.
According to a book titled "The Grifter's Club," Trump permanently banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago due to his harassment of a minor daughter of a club member.
"The government itself has released Epstein files containing the president's name. What Elon revealed is nothing new. Everyone already knows this," the source said. "If Elon really thought the president had deeper ties with Epstein, why did he associate with him for six months and say he loved him 'like one straight man loves another'?"
