According to a May 10 report by Britain's The Guardian, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar told Pakistani media in an interview that Pakistan had "no choice" but to launch a military operation in response to India.
In the interview, Dar said that the whole world is currently paying attention to the conflict between India and Pakistan, but India has left Pakistan no option but to respond with force. Dar also said that the international community and friendly countries are aware of Pakistan's situation, and Pakistan was compelled to make the decision to resort to the use of force.
"During the earlier attacks launched by India, 35 of our civilians lost their lives. Just hours ago, India attacked one of our air force bases. We have taken all defensive measures and were forced to retaliate," Dar said during the interview. "The international community has a responsibility to play its part and should have done so when India launched its attack and killed Pakistani civilians a few days ago. We have shown great restraint."
